Dive into emerging Issues at Summer School
The 2026 Public Health Summer School is set to return to the University of Otago’s Wellington campus from 2–20
February 2026!
With 29 courses on offer—including 14 exciting new topics—you can dive into emerging areas such as AI in public health, Health Equity Assessment, tobacco end-game thinking, food system priorities, and much more. Plus, explore a rich selection of research methods courses to strengthen your skills and knowledge.
Planetary health will also be in the spotlight as Climate Health Aotearoa will also be running three online, half-day courses as part of the programme.
Courses will cover the links between climate change, health, and health equity in the Aotearoa context, how our health system can respond to the challenge of climate change and climate change and healing.
Sixteen course are in person and 13 online.

About the school:
The Public Health Summer School offers practical 1–3 day courses to anyone who wants to develop their knowledge and skills. It has been providing this training for over 20 years and has grown to become the largest and longest running summer school of its type in the Southern Hemisphere.
